Youth Consultations in Tanzania

From 26–28 August 2025, the SeaScape Hotel in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, hosted the AU–EU Youth Voices Lab Annual Technical Team Meeting & Youth Consultations 2025. The event, organized by Restless Development in collaboration with the AU–EU Youth Voices Lab consortium, brought together 31 youth leaders, 6 Youth Advisory Board members, and 4 staff from Restless Development and Oxfam.

Over three days, participants engaged in hands-on consultations and co-creation sessions, exploring the YVL App, sharing feedback on usability and inclusivity, and developing innovative digital campaign concepts. Small-group discussions at the “Feedback Integration Café” allowed participants to prioritize app improvements and draft ideas for a Youth Digital Festival and online campaigns.

The technical team consolidated these insights into a concrete action plan with clear responsibilities and next steps, ensuring that youth-driven recommendations will guide the app’s next phase and future engagement initiatives. The event strengthened youth leadership, collaboration, and ownership in shaping digital tools for cross-continental engagement.
