Launch of Youth Sounding Board (YSB) in Ghana

On 26 August 2025, the Team Europe Youth Sounding Board (YSB) was officially launched in Accra, Ghana, establishing a new platform for Ghanaian youth to contribute to Team Europe’s development cooperation. Over 100 participants attended, including youth representatives, government officials, EU & EU Member State Ambassadors, development partners, civil society, and media stakeholders.

The inauguration featured keynote speeches and presentations from the Government of the Netherlands, National Youth Authority, EU Delegation, and the Minister of Youth Development and Empowerment. Participants engaged in sessions highlighting youth empowerment initiatives, such as agribusiness training, Erasmus+ opportunities, and the €2.6 million EU Youth Empowerment Programme, while informal networking allowed for dialogue and collaboration between youth, ambassadors, and government representatives.

The launch strengthened partnerships and positioned youth as active contributors to decision-making, supporting Ghana’s sustainable development. The YSB fostered youth leadership, enhanced inclusivity, and created long-term opportunities in education, innovation, and governance. As one EU representative highlighted, “The YSB reflects the EU Youth Strategy built on the three pillars of engage, empower, and connect”.
