AU-EU Youth Voices Lab App May Demo Series

May 2026

Throughout May 2026, the AU-EU Youth Voices Lab – Power of the Collective programme continued expanding youth engagement across Africa and Europe through a series of AU-EU Youth Voices Lab App Demo and Feedback Sessions. Organised in collaboration with programme partners and stakeholders, the sessions introduced young people and key ecosystem actors to the platform while gathering valuable feedback to support its ongoing development.

The first session took place on 19 May in collaboration with NexGen Insight Publications in Somalia, bringing together young people, including students from Puntland State University. Participants explored the app’s core functionalities and learned how to use the platform to access learning opportunities, engage with peers, and contribute to a growing cross-continental community.

On 22 May, ComDev Africa integrated an AU-EU Youth Voices Lab App demonstration into an in-person French-language activity in Cameroon. The session ensured that French-speaking participants could discover the platform in their preferred language and gain the skills needed to actively engage with and promote the app within their communities and networks.

The month concluded with a dedicated virtual demonstration for consortium partners, Youth Advisory Board (YAB) members, and Country Managers on 29 May. Participants were introduced to recent platform updates, including improvements to navigation, learning features, multilingual accessibility, opportunity-sharing functionalities, and partner-specific tools such as posting opportunities through the Opportunity Desk. The session also created space for feedback and discussions on strengthening dissemination and youth engagement efforts.

Across all three demonstrations, participants were guided through key sections of the AU-EU Youth Voices Lab App, including learning resources, community engagement spaces, collaboration opportunities, and feedback mechanisms. The sessions aimed not only to strengthen understanding of the platform but also to empower participants to become ambassadors of the app within their own networks.

As the virtual mirror of the AU-EU Youth Voices Lab community, the app continues to connect young people with information, learning opportunities, collaboration spaces, and opportunities to contribute to a more inclusive and youth-responsive society in Africa and Europe.

More demo and feedback sessions will take place in the coming months as the programme continues to grow its community and strengthen youth participation across the AU-EU partnership.
