ABOUT
Empowering Communities to End Child Marriage is a project implemented by Ascend Future Foundation in Zambia, focusing on children, families, schools, and communities in Chongwe District. The project addresses child marriage, teenage pregnancy, school dropout, and the loss of educational opportunities by sensitizing rural and urban communities on the harmful effects of early marriage and early parenthood. The project aims to keep children in school and prevent early marriage, contributing to stronger child protection and community development in Zambia.

“ Children are not brides or grooms. They are agents of change who belong in school, not in marriages or early parenthood. Through this initiative, we aim to educate communities in Chongwe District on the harmful effects of early marriage while promoting continued education for children. By keeping children in school, we support their development into productive individuals who can contribute meaningfully to their families, communities, and national growth. ”
