Our Role in the 7th AU–EU Joint Declaration in Luanda
We are proud to share our active role in shaping the 7th African Union – European Union Joint Declaration, officially presented during the AU-EU Summit on November 24–25, 2025, in Luanda, Angola. Our involvement underscores the importance of youth voices and civil society in driving the AU-EU partnership forward and ensuring that the perspectives of young people are reflected in the political dialogue between Africa and Europe.
This Joint Declaration outlines commitments on key issues, including peace, security, sustainable development, climate action, migration, mobility, and multilateral cooperation, reaffirming the solidarity between the two continents.
The Declaration is the result of extensive collaboration over the past two months with our consortium partners and the Africa-Europe Foundation. Initiatives such as the Youth Dialogues and #YourVoiceYourRoad campaigns enabled us to gather insights, recommendations, and ideas from young people across Africa and Europe, ensuring that their voices were heard and integrated into the Summit’s discussions.
During the Civil Society and Youth Forum, we contributed to discussions in four thematic areas: peace, security, and governance; people; prosperity; and multilateralism. Our recommendations focused on streamlining visa processes, amplifying marginalized voices, and encouraging civil society participation, as well as promoting inclusive and quality education.
These recommendations were officially incorporated into the Summit discussions, marking an important step toward more inclusive and sustainable collaboration between Africa and Europe.
We would like to express our gratitude to all the partners, youth leaders, and civil society representatives who worked alongside us during the Forum.
Their dedication, expertise, and commitment contributed significantly to the outcomes of the Summit, strengthening the bond between Africa and Europe.
