
Youth Friendly Standards Demo Days in Tunisia and Senegal: Advancing Youth-Centered Policies Across Africa
As part of the AU‑EU Youth Voices Lab – Power of the Collective programme, ComDev Africa and its partners are advancing a shared vision: building more youth‑responsive, inclusive, and participatory societies across Africa and Europe.
During November and December, ComDev Africa, in partnership with WeBridge Africa and national youth networks, led a regional effort to strengthen youth engagement through by organizing two Youth Friendly Standards Demo Days in Tunisia and Senegal to promote the adoption and integration of the Youth Friendly Standards.

Hosted by ComDev Africa in partnership with WeBridge Africa, the Tunisia Demo Day focused on raising awareness about the Youth Friendly Standards and demonstrating their value for youth-centered policies and programs. Stakeholders from the Ministry of Youth, youth organizations, the private sector, and development partners in Tunisia explored how the Youth Friendly Standards can strengthen institutional practices and enhance youth engagement.

Organized by ComDev Africa with the support of WeBridge Africa and the Senegal Youth Consortium (CJS), and in collaboration with partners such as the European Union, Mastercard Foundation, and UNICEF, the Senegal Demo Day brought together a wide range of actors, including the Ministry of Youth, youth organizations, youth representatives, YAB members, and development partners from Senegal. The event emphasized the importance of adopting Youth Friendly Standards to improve the inclusivity and effectiveness of youth services across the country.
Shared Purpose and Impact Across Both Countries
The YFS Demo Days in Tunisia and Senegal highlight a growing continental momentum toward more inclusive, youth-responsive systems. ComDev Africa and its partners will continue supporting institutions and youth networks across Africa to adopt and champion the Youth Friendly Standards. This effort is perfeclty aligned with our programme’s purpose to amplify youth voices and strengthen youth-responsive governance.
