1 year Youth Voices Lab!
March 2025 was of high significance as it marked the 1-year anniversary of the AU-EU Youth Voices Lab – Power of the Collective. This programme, part of the AU-EU Youth Lab, is here to help co-create a more inclusive and youth-responsive society in Africa and Europe.
Over its first year of implementation, a series of activities, both online and on-site, have already been developed. Some of the opportunities we created this year for African youths are:
- Our Youth Advisory Board, a consulting body in the programme that steers decisions toward youth priorities
- The Youth Voices Third-Party-Funding Mechanism, a grant scheme to financially support youth-led groups
- Training activities with hundreds of youth around Africa
- Online training and networking opportunities
- Tips, skills, and resources in the areas of advocacy, public speaking, soft and digital skills
- Opportunities to attend training, workshops, conferences, and other events provided by third parties
Consortium partners have also mobilized people who are now trained and equipped to spread the word about what we do and how local communities can benefit from our opportunities.
So far, it’s safe to say that hundreds of African youths have already benefited from this programme. As year 1 came to its end and year 2 is starting to roll out, our commitment is to support young people in effectively advocating their concerns at various levels. This programme is here for all youths to Engage, Empower, and Connect.
